Support Worker – Lower Hutt, Wellington

We’re looking for two compassionate and resilient support workers to join our small, friendly team of kaiāwhina. You’ll be supporting a neurodiverse 14-year-old boy with health needs including nocturnal epilepsy, ADHD, and a mild intellectual disability. He experiences seizures during sleep and needs caring individuals to help him feel safe and supported, especially during times of distress.

Hourly Rate: $23.50 – $29.10 (based on qualifications)
Location: Hutt Valley, Wellington

Available Shifts

  • Wake-over shifts: Sunday to Wednesday, 9:00 PM – 6:00 AM
  • Key Responsibilities
  • Monitoring and note-taking
  • Mickey button feeding
  • Administering oxygen therapy
  • Light household tasks
  • Providing companionship and emotional support

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience is helpful but not essential training will be provided. The ideal candidate will:
  • Be compassionate, reliable, and honest
  • Enjoy working with children
  • Have some familiarity with epilepsy (training available)
  • Hold a current First Aid certificate (or be willing to obtain one)
  • Be positive, adaptable, and have a “can-do” attitude

Requirements

  • Own vehicle and full NZ driver’s licence
  • NZ citizenship, permanent residency, or a valid work visa (with at least 12 months remaining)
  • Must reside in the Hutt Valley, Wellington
