More Than an Accessible Bathroom: Why Being Part of the Changing Places Network Matters

Accessibility is about more than meeting minimum standards — it’s about creating spaces that allow people to participate in everyday life with dignity, confidence, and independence.

That’s the thinking behind the work our friends at Changing Places are doing — helping create spaces that enable greater access and participation.

A Changing Places facility is more than a larger accessible bathroom. These spaces are designed to support people with complex disabilities and high support needs by providing specialised equipment and features that make accessing the community safer and more comfortable.

Every facility on the Changing Places network is secure, locked, and accessed through a membership system. This approach gives registered users confidence that they can reliably access the facility when they need it, while also helping protect specialised equipment from misuse and damage.

Being part of a recognised network helps ensure these important community assets achieve their full impact.

At Geneva Healthcare, we recognise that meaningful accessibility is about creating environments that empower people to live fuller and more independent lives.
