Easter At Geneva’s Community Living Homes

Geneva Community Living Homes Celebrated Easter in Style

Everyone, including their Geneva Community Living homes that provide Disability Support Services, got into the spirit this past Easter, and the celebrations started with the local Auckland homes getting together for a shared lunch, with streamers, music and a best-dressed competition.

Around 30 Clients with disabilities and their Support Workers enjoyed all sorts of delicious Easter themed food, including everyone’s favourite – hot cross buns.

Lunch was followed by a surprise Easter egg hunt around the home and garden. Everyone looked far and wide for the eggs that were discreetly placed. One of their clients, Katherine, was excited to find an Easter egg hidden away in the garden.

The food is good and it’s great to see everyone today,

she said.

Katherine joined Geneva because she wanted to live in a place where she could meet and have fun with other people, and says,

I love that I can go walking and swimming, I’m also hoping to try horse riding next

Geneva Community Connector, Nikala, who organised the party and is the one who helps Clients get out and do fun activities says,

I love helping our Clients make choices about what they want to do and how they want their lives enriched

The best-dressed competition was rightly won by James and Paul for their outfits and elegant hats, and thanks go out to the Geneva Support Workers and Clients who helped make this day happen. Events like the Easter celebration encourage everyone to live their best lives.
