Frequently Asked Questions – Short Term Support

Short term support is temporary care provided at home for a limited period, usually following an illness, injury, hospital stay, or surgery. It focuses on helping individuals recover safely and comfortably until they are ready to manage on their own again.

It depends on your needs. Support can last for a few days, several weeks, or a few months. We’ll work with you and your healthcare team to determine the right timeframe.

Yes. Most people prefer to recover in the comfort of their own home, and our Support Workers can provide all the help you need, from personal care to mobility support.

You may be eligible for funded support through ACC (if your situation is related to an injury) or through your local NASC (Needs Assessment and Service Coordination). Private care is also available for extra flexibility.

If your recovery takes more time, your care plan can easily be extended. We can also transition you into long term support if ongoing assistance is required.
