What is clinical oversight? Clinical oversight is the ongoing monitoring and supervision of your care by a Registered Nurse or healthcare professional. It ensures your health needs are being met safely and effectively, and that your care plan is regularly reviewed and updated.
Who needs clinical oversight? Clinical oversight is recommended for people living with complex health needs such as long-term conditions, chronic illnesses, post-surgical recovery, or injuries requiring clinical input. It is also used when Support Workers provide daily care but nursing supervision is needed for clinical tasks.
Is clinical oversight provided at home? Yes. Our Registered Nurses can visit you at home to carry out assessments, review your care plan, and provide clinical support as needed.
Is this service funded? Clinical oversight is provided as part of your funded services package through ACC (for injury-related conditions) or through NASC (Needs Assessment and Service Coordination) services. Private care is also available if you require additional nursing oversight beyond funded hours.
Can clinical oversight work alongside my GP or specialists? Absolutely. Our team coordinates closely with your wider healthcare providers to ensure seamless communication and continuity of care.
How often will a nurse visit for oversight? This depends on your individual needs. Some clients require regular weekly oversight, while others may need less frequent visits. Your care plan will determine the right schedule for you.
