Do I need qualifications to become a whānau carer? No prior qualifications are required. We provide free training to help you build skills and confidence in your caring role.
Is training free? Yes. Through MySkill, whānau carers can complete free NZQA-recognised training in health and wellbeing.
Can I build a career from being a whānau carer? Absolutely. Many of our whānau carers go on to build rewarding careers in the healthcare sector. We offer clear pathways into support work, nursing, and other health roles.
