About the Role | He kōrero whakamārama mō tēnei tūranga

You will be working autonomously and as part of a wider multidisciplinary team, within a best practice, person and family/whanau centred approach to assessment and rehabilitation.

As a community-based Speech Language Therapist, you will have a real passion and dedication to all aspects of service delivery and the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with your clients and their families. You will work with a wide range of people with illness, injury or disabilities, providing assessment and rehabilitation programmes within their home, work or community settings.

This role will require visiting clients in their homes. You will need to be comfortable travelling in the Wellington region. Experience across paediatric services is highly advantageous!

What you will bring | Ngā tohungatanga mō tēnei tūranga

To be successful in this role, we are looking for the following requirements:

  • NZ Registration as a Speech Language Therapist and current APC
  • Previous community experience in a similar role
  • Understanding of, and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
  • Proven NZ post graduate experience of more than two years
  • Past contracting experience delivery community based assessment and rehabilitation
  • Paediatric experience
  • Proven experience working on ACC contracts
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Understanding of and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi
  • Clean Full NZ drivers licence with access to a reliable vehicle
  • Proficient computer and IT knowledge
