Geneva Staffing are recruiting on behalf of Bendigo Health for a Registered Nurse to join the dynamic Mental Health team. About the Role:

As a Registered Nurse in the Adult Acute Unit, you will be part of a team that provides intensive therapeutic treatment for patients aged 16 to 64. Your key responsibilities will include assessing patient needs, planning and delivering care, providing leadership and guidance to junior staff, and contributing to quality improvement activities. You will also assist in developing and maintaining individual treatment and recovery plans for patients, and educate patients and their families on mental health and recovery strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide nursing care and assessments in consultation with the healthcare team, patients, and carers.
  • Deliver safe, customer-focused care within a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Take part in health education for patients and carers.
  • Offer leadership and mentorship to junior nurses and students.
  • Participate in patient assessments to formulate recovery plans.
  • Document client records accurately and efficiently.

What you will bring:

  • Postgraduate diploma in mental health or working towards.
  • Understanding of the Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022 and its application in clinical practice.
  • Proven experience liaising with families, healthcare teams, and community agencies.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and mandatory training.
  • A current Victorian driver’s licence.
