Wound Care

Our vision is to provide  comprehensive knowledge, skills, and abilities to facilitate  effective wound care following best practice and global trends.

The service provides specialist wound care nurses who can assess, manage and advise on simple, chronic or complex wounds. Clients are referred by their GP, Practice Nurse, District Nurse, hospital or specialist.  Following assessment a treatment plan is drawn up and this is communicated back to the referring source.

The team offers value to the patient journey through continued support to chronic care patients in the comfort of their homes. In consultation with the primary care team we can provide care plans and follow-up programmes aimed at preventing further injury.  We offer vascular assessment through  Doppler to determine the best pathway of care for patients experiencing oedema or vascular insufficiency. These treatments may include compression bandaging or other advanced treatment modalities.
