Geneva Nurse Midwife & Caregivers of the Year Award Winners 2011
Five of Geneva Health and Geneva Care's Agency Staff members
have been honoured with the 'Geneva Nurse, Midwife and Caregiver of
the Year' award. These Candidates were nominated by Geneva's
Clients, Consultants and fellow Candidates for their outstanding
commitment to providing high levels of care and service to the
clients and patients that they support every day the community.

There was an overwhelming response of nominations for this
competition which made the final decisions very challenging for the
judging panel made up Geneva's management team. For each
category, winning attributes taken into account included the
candidate's ability to demonstrate a caring nature and their use of
clinical knowledge or training that has made a difference to
vulnerable patients' lives.
Josephine Wallis, Chief Executive of Geneva Health explains that
"the level of care and attention our nurses, midwives and carers
provide across New Zealand is renowned in the health
industry. These awards represent an opportunity for Geneva
Health to publically recognise some extraordinary people who give
so much to others selflessly. This goes some way for Geneva
Health to give them thanks and recognition they unquestionably
deserve."
The Geneva Nurse, Midwife and Caregiver of the Year winners each
received pamper package gift vouchers for Senses Spa at The Westin
in Auckland City and the East Day Spa in Wellington, and our winner
in Christchurch received a Freeman X adventure experience voucher,
to the value of $350.
Each year Geneva recognises the incredible work that all Nurses,
Midwives and Caregivers do for their community, especially those
who Geneva employs. This is the first year this type of award
has been offered and the timing was chosen to coincide with
International Nurses Day and International Midwives Day
celebrations.
