Some general tips
- Presentation is everything. Ensure that the font stays the same
throughout the document. Use lower case, don't type in
capitals.
- Get someone neutral to read your CV before you send it and make
sure there are no grammatical or spelling errors.
- Use positive language that gives a sense of accomplishment and
potential benefit to the employer. Avoid the use of "I", begin the
sentences with terms denoting action.
- Make sure your work experience is listed in chronological order
starting with the most recent position.
- You will need to include the names and work contact details of
two referees from your current place of employment. One referee
will need to be your current Manager and the second a senior
colleague.
- There must be no gaps in dates between jobs. If you had a
career break, holiday or had a baby please include dates and brief
explanation.
- Save your CV as a Word document with your first and last
name.
- Australian Applicants: The Nursing and
Midwifery Board of Australia require you to send a hard copy of
your CV with your application for registration. They have a
set format for how your CV must be presented to them.
