Community Living

Geneva Healthcare Community Living provides 24-hour support in home environments for people aged 16 years and over with a physical or intellectual disability.

Our multi-disciplinary team of support workers and health professionals work alongside people, their families and wider communities to promote social connection and community participation. We also support people to gain access to, and deal with, specialist services.

Geneva Healthcare provides Community Living services in Auckland, Hamilton, Rotorua and Tauranga.  The team are professional, friendly, trained and experienced – but most importantly passionate about making a difference in people’s lives.

Working alongside people, together we determine their needs and goals, what is most important to them and how we can make the greatest difference.  Our “can-do” attitude means we are flexible, willing and able to find a way to provide the support people require and to help achieve their goals.

From getting up in the morning, going to your local café, visiting friends, seeing your favourite band, playing a sport, finding a job, we are there to support you to make it happen.

Our support staff provide around the clock care personal care and community participation including:

  • Support in the home to assist with daily activities
  • Community accessing community and social activities and events
  • Accessing public transport or mobility transport
  • Recreation and sport
  • Work and education

Examples of individual goals are:

  • Learning to drive
  • Using public transport
  • Going to the movies
  • Playing a team sport
  • Shopping for and cooking a meal

We support people to access to and deal with specialist services including:

  • Healthcare and medical services

  • Work and Income

  • Equipment 

  • Rehabilitation therapies

Geneva Healthcare currently has Community Living services in Auckland, Hamilton, Rotorua and Tauranga.

From 9th February 2015, Geneva Healthcare's Community Living will be offering Respite Care for Intellectually and Physically Disabled clients at two of their Rotorua Houses.
